Yeshivah College, Australia
Yeshivah College, officially Yeshivas Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch (), is an independent Orthodox Jewish comprehensive single-sex primary and secondary Jewish day school for boys, located in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda East, in Victoria, Australia. The school is run by the Chabad-Lubavitch movement's Yeshivah Centre, and caters to students from kindergarten through to Year 12. History The previous Lubavitcher Rebbe sent five Chabad families to establish a community in Australia. They originally moved to Shepparton as there was already a Chabad family there. In the 1950s they moved to Melbourne and started the school in 1958. Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Groner was sent from New York to help in the school and not long after his arrival he became the principal and director of the school. The Yeshiva College, also known as the Harry O. Triguboff Centre, is a Hasidic Jewish synagogue, learning centre, and library of the Chabad-Lubavitch nusach, located at 36 Flood Street, in the Sydney suburb of Bondi, New South Wales, Australia. The Centre runs various adult and child-based educational programs. History The centre was established in 1956 by Abraham Rabinovitch and others. The leaders from 1956 to 1968 were Rabbi G. Hertz and Rabbi C. E. Barzel. In 1968 the Yeshiva's board of trustees appointed Rabbi Pinchus Feldman to lead its synagogue and to assist with expanding its small ultra-orthodox Jewish day school. The Yeshiva of Greater Washington (Tiferes Gedaliah) (YGW) is a litvishe Yeshiva located in Kemp Mill, Maryland. It was founded in 1964 by Rabbi Gedaliah Anemer. It consists of a Kollel (Zichron Amram), a Yeshiva Gedolah (that offers a Bachelor's in Talmudic Law degree through its fully accredited college program as Yeshiva College of the Nation's Capital), and separate high schools for boys and girls.
